QSL: Voice of Nevis 895

Voice of Nevis broadcasting from Charlestown in St.Kitts-Nevis is one of very few stations from the Caribbean which is still transmitting on a split frequency (895 kHz). Despite using a split frequency and despite calling themselves “The Caribbean’s Power House”, the station is not heard too well or too frequently in Norway. I have heard the Voice of Nevis (or “VON Radio” as they like to call themselves) a couple of times at Lista on 895 kHz. In November 2005 the signal was good enough to send a reception report to the station.

Desery Ottley, Radio Announcer/News Reporter, sent me a letter confirming my report of the station last week. She also enclosed a hurricane map of the Caribbean, which I frankly don’t expect I will not use a lot… 🙂

If you enjoy listening to soca music, VON Radio has got a live audio feed as well.
