I’ve been busy clearing my files from last season, meaning I’ve sent quite a lot of reception reports out to some of the stations heard at Lista and at home last winter. Hopefully, they will result in a few verifications.
The first one came in just some hours ago: A brief e-mail from General Manager Di [...]

Fred Miller, Chief Operator of Cumulus Media verified my report of WDEA in Ellsworth, Maine, yesterday. This was also for a report from our Lista DXpedition in February where WDEA was heard with a good signal on 1370 kHz. Freds says say their 5 kW transmitter is located in Surrey while their studios are [...]

Received a QSL-letter as a Word attachment from Chief Engineer Scott Bacon. WDRC is the most common US station heard on this frequency at my place. Scott says the station runs 5 kilowatts of power non directional days and directional nights. This was also a report from the DXpedition to Lista in February.

WARV in Warwick, Rhode Island, verified my e-mail report today. WARV is the most common station on 1590 with their religious “Life Changing Radio” programming. Now that there’s DRM from Germany on 1593 kHz, I suppose it may be a more difficult catch in Europe. The e-mail reply came from Bill Blount, President of the [...]

I received a very surprising e-mail from Radio Buratiya in Ulan-Ude in Siberia. I heard this station about a year ago, sent a report with a CD and had totally forgotten about even hearing them! Yesterday, however, I received an e-mail from Radio Buratiya (or “Buryat State Broadcasting Company” as the station calls themselves) confirming [...]

Not much time for DX-ing this weekend, but 2 (to me) new stations were logged: HJDL and HRRF.
1140 7.10 0541 HJDL Radio Paisa, Medellín, caught with an ID in between romantic music. This is a new station for me
1476 7.10 1700 Radio 1476 started a programme in Slovenian from ORF Radio Kärnten: “Sie hören jetzt [...]

Received a full data verification letter by postal mail in just 4 days for an e-mail report to Offshore Music Radio in Scunthorpe, England. The letter was signed by David Laine, Engineering. Offshore Music Radio is an Internet radio station, but it is also relayed by Radio Nord in Latvia on 945 kHz every Friday [...]

A few days ago, I also received a QSL-card (yes, they still exist!), a nice letter and a fridge magnet from CBA in Moncton, New Brunswick. The letter was signed by Bonnie Porter-Belliveau, Audience Relations, CBC Moncton. CBA is quite an easy catch on 1070 kHz, and it is by far the most common North [...]

WZAN in Portland, Maine, was heard with an excellent signal on 970 kHz throughout the DXpedition to Lista in February. Lara Seaver, Promotions Director, verified my report with an e-mail some days ago. Previously, she also verified my report of 1490 WBAE. Both stations are owned by the Portland Radio Group.
